Phuket International Airport is one of the prime airports in Thailand and the second-busiest airport in Thailand. It is located about 32 km from the city centre, established in 1988. It offers various flights using airlines like Aeroflot, Azur Air, Ikar, TUI Airways, Emirates, and others. The airport is currently awaiting the construction of a new terminal.
Suvarnabhumi Airport, or Bangkok Airport, is Thailand's largest, busiest and most important airport. This airport initially operated domestic flights only after its launch in 2006 but soon started operating international flights as well. It is located about 30 km from the city centre.
Don Mueang International Airport, launched in 1914, is now the third busiest airport in the country. It is about 25 km away from the city centre. Some common airlines in this airport include Nok Air, Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air, etc.
Hat Yai International Airport primarily serves the southern part of Thailand. It started operating in 2006 and is conveniently located only 14 km from the city centre. Thai Air Asia and Nok Air are standard airlines that fly through this airport.
The Samui International Airport is privately owned, ranking seventh among Thailand's busiest airports. Launched in 1989, this airport is only 6 km from the city centre. It uses Bangkok Airways and Chengdu Airlines to offer the flights. Its future expansions are likely to increase the passenger capacity.
The Chiang Mai Airport attends to the Northern part of Thailand, only 5 km from the city centre. Launched in 1921, it is the fourth busiest airport in the country and has gained popularity over the years. Airlines like Jeju Air, Nok Air, Thai AirAsia, and others are used for offering both domestic and international flights to passengers.
Krabi Airport serves the region of Krabi in Thailand, launched in 1999. It is one of the most popular airports in Thailand, located only 7 km from the city centre. This airport accommodates airlines like Thai Lion Air, Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia, and others offering flights.
Udon Thani International Airport serves the Udon Thani region of Thailand, located only 7 km from the city centre. It is a commercial airport but also serves as the airbase for the Royal Thai Air Force.
