1. Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC), Dhaka

The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport or popularly known as The Dhaka Airport is the largest establishment in Bangladesh. It is located in Kurmitola 17 km from the city of Dhaka, in the northern part of Dhaka. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh looks after the airport. It was opened in 1980 for public use by then-President Ziaur Rehman.

2. Shah Amanat International Airport (CGP), Chittagong

Located in Patenga City, Chittagong district, The Shah Amanat International Airport is the second-largest airport in Bangladesh, after the Dhaka Airport. The airport is located 18.5 km from the main citty of Chittagong.

It was built in the year 1940 by the British Government, as a combat airfield for the United States Army during World War II. The airport has the capability of handling 1.5 million passengers and 6,000 tonnes of cargo annually.

3. Osmani International Airport (ZYL), Sylhet

The Osmani International Airport in Sylhet is the third-largest international airport in Bangladesh. It is located 15 km to the northeast of Sylhet city. Though it was built during WWII, it was made a full-fledged international airport in 2002.

In 2020, the CAAB allotted funds for the development of the airport. A new passenger building with another cargo building is being constructed under the construction project.

5. Jashore Airport (JSR), Jashore

The Jashore Airport is a domestic airport in the city of Jashore in Bangladesh. In the year 1945 it was used as an air base during the second world war and in 1956, full Airport in Jashore was started.

Apart from using it for passenger purposes, it is also used by Bangladesh Air Force as a base and by the Bangladesh Air Force Academy for training purposes. The airport is the fifth busiest airport in Bangladesh.
