Gurgaon is located in the southwestern region of Delhi. In the recent past, the state has come to act as India's financial capital. The city's population is also growing faster through employment opportunities in Gurgaon.

Congestion in the traffic systems that prevail in cities due to the growing population also exists. The RTO offices also function effectively in attending to their responsibilities without any failure, even in the case of issuing driving licences in Gurgaon.

The different types of driving licence issued in Gurgaon are mentioned below:

1. Learner’s Licence

A learner’s licence is provided when a candidate is still learning to drive a vehicle. This licence is valid for up to 6 months. In 6 months, if the candidate is still not ready, they need to apply for their learner’s licence again. However, while holding a learner’s licence, drivers must be accompanied by another experienced driver.

2. Permanent Licence

After 6 months, the permanent licence is issued. However, there are certain conditions. Candidates must be above 18 years of age and must have cleared the driving test to obtain a permanent driving licence. This licence is valid for 20 years or until the licence holder turns 50. 3. Commercial Licence

• Step 2: Locate the ‘Licences’ option and select it.

• Step 3: Then, download the application form and proceed to print it.

The procedure to apply for a driving licence in Gurgaon offline is mentioned below:

• Step 1: You can obtain the Application Form 2 from the RTO of your region or area.
• Step 2: When completing the application, you need to provide the following data:

Driving Test For Two and Three-Wheeler Vehicles

Driving Test For Four-Wheelers

In case an applicant fails in any of the test categories, there is a provision for retest after seven days on payment of a small fee.

The following procedure must be followed to apply for an International Driving License (IDL) in India:

• Step 1: You can go to the official Parivahan website at:
• Step 2: Click on ‘Other Related Services’ and then click on ‘Driving License Related Services’. It is under the ‘Online services’ tab.
• Step 3: Select the state on the next page.
• Step 4: The next step is to click on the link ‘Apply for International Driving Permit (IDP)’.
• Step 5: When you are ready, click on ‘Continue’.
• Step 6: Input the DL number and date of birth fields and type the captcha.
• Step 7: Type ‘I agree’ at the bottom of the Terms & Conditions and press ‘Proceed’.
• Step 8: The application form has to be completed.
• Step 9: The necessary documents must be uploaded.
• Step 10: A scanned copy of your photo and your digital or written signature are required.
• Step 11: This fee must be paid.

After you complete all the necessary application processes, the IDL will be issued to you within four to five days.

A non-commercial driving license, once issued, stays valid until the age of 50 or for the upcoming 20 years. After that, the holder needs to renew the license every 5 years. Now, the application for renewing a driver's license can be made through two processes: Online and Offline.

Online Process for Driving Licence Renewal in Gurgaon

• Step 1: Travel to the nearby Regional Transport Office in Gurgaon.
• Step 2: Go to the counter, get Form 2, and write the necessary information.
• Step 3: Once completed, submit your application with the required documents.
• Step 4: Pay the amount and get the receipt of the same.

Offline Process for Driving Licence Renewal in Gurgaon

If you wish to renew your DL online in Gurgaon, you may follow the above-mentioned process.

• Step 1: Download Form 2 for application through the Parivahan website.
• Step 2: Fill in the required details in the form as mentioned below.
• Step 3: Go to the Parivahan website and look for “Driving Licence Related Services” under “Online Services”.
• Step 4: From the list of states, choose “Haryana”.
• Step 5: Select the option “Apply for DL Renewal”.
• Step 6: Again, read the information and click “Continue”.
• Step 7: Fill in the fields such as “Date of Birth” and “DL number”.
• Step 8: Input the visible Captcha and “Proceed”.
• Step 9: It is advisable to have a smart card driving licence.
• Step 10: Prepare all necessary documents and pay the required standard fee.

You can now retain the payment receipt and application ID for further utilisation. The Gurgaon RTO will verify your documents before renewing your DL.
