Step 3: Pay the required fees and book a slot for your driving test. Visit the test venue on the fixed date.

Step 1: Visit the official portal of Parivahan Sewa. Bring the cursor to “Online Services”.

Step 2: Click on "Driving licence-related services" from the drop-down list. On the new page, select "Chhattisgarh" from the list of states.

Step 3: Click on “Apply for Driving Licence” and click on “Continue”. Enter your learner’s licence number and date of birth and click on “OK”.

Step 4: Fill out the online form with your details and click "Submit". Upload scanned copies of the required documents. 

Step 5: Book a slot for a driving test with the local RTO. Appear for the test on the scheduled date and time.

If the applicant fails the test, they can reappear for the exam after 7 days once they pay a small fee for the retest.

The status of Chhattisgarh's driving licence can be checked online by visiting the official portal of the Indian Government’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Follow these steps to check your driving licence status online:

Step 1: Visit the Parivahan Sewa portal of the Government of India.

Step 2: Hover over the “Online Services” option and click on the second option “Driving Licence Related Services”.

Step 3: Select “Chhattisgarh” from the drop-down menu.

Step 4: Click on the “application status” button in the top right corner

Step 5: Enter the application number and date birth followed by the captcha verification code to learn the status of your application.

If your driving licence is lost or damaged, you can apply for a duplicate licence in Chhattisgarh. You may either download the form, manually fill it and submit it to the RTO or visit the Parivahan Sarathi portal to generate a pre-filled application form. Step 1: File an FIR in the concerned police station if the licence is lost.

Step 2: Download and fill up the application form from the website of the Government of Chhattisgarh’s Transport Department.

Step 3: Visit your nearest RTO with a copy of the FIR or the damaged licence along with the application form to apply for a duplicate driving licence.

Parivahan Sarathi Method

Step 1: Visit the Parivahan Sarathi portal of Government of India. 

Step 2: Hover over the “Online Services” option and click on the second option “Driving Licence Related Services”.

Step 3: Select the state as “Chhattisgarh”.

Step 4: Click on “Apply for Duplicate DL”. 

Step 5: Read the guidelines carefully and click on “Continue”.

Step 6: Enter your driving licence number and date of birth captcha and click on the “proceed” button. 

Step 7: Select your state name and RTO and click on “proceed”. 

Step 8: Verify all details on the page. If the details are correct, click on “confirm”.

Step 9: Select “issue of Duplicate DL” and click on “proceed”. 

Step 10: Specify the reason why you are applying for a duplicate DL. Click on “proceed”.

Step 11: Download the application form and the acknowledgement slip. 

Step 12: Visit your RTO office with the documents and submit it.

To renew a driving licence, you have the application within 30 days of its expiry. You may follow the below-mentioned methods to renew your existing driving licence in Chhattisgarh:

Offline Method

Step 1: Download the application form from the official website of the Transport Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh.  

Step 2: Duly fill up the form.

Step 3: Submit the form to the RTO office along with 2 copies of passport photograph, age proof, residence proof and medical certificate.

Parivahan Sarathi Method

Step 1: Visit the official portal of Parivahan Sarathi. 

Step 2: Click on the “Driving Licence Related Services” button. 

Step 3: Select state “Chhattisgarh” from the drop-down menu. 

Step 4: Click on the “Apply for DL Renewal” button.

Step 5: Read all the instructions carefully and click on “Continue”.

Step 6: Enter your DL number date of birth and, enter the captcha code and hit “Get Details”.

Step 7: Verify the details, select state and RTO and click on the “Proceed” button.

Step 8: Check the “Renewal” box from the list of services and click “Continue”.

Step 9: Download/print the acknowledgement receipt.  

Step 10: Visit your RTO with all the documents and acknowledgement slip.

The documents required for renewing a driving license in Chhattisgarh are:

• Photocopy of the driver's expired driver's license.
• Obtain Form 1A ( The driver has to be at least 40 years of age)
• 2 Passport-sized photographs of the applicant 
• Form 9
