The e-Challan system uses technology to simplify the process of tracking, recording, and punishing traffic violations. The Andhra Pradesh traffic police also accepted the advanced technological system as being quicker and more efficient in tracing out violators of traffic laws. 

An e-Challan may be issued for several traffic offences, and a person will be given a period to pay the fine.

e-Challans are the electronic tickets handed out to traffic laws and regulations offenders. The violations of traffic rules are recorded by installing CCTV cameras and speed sensors on the roads. Challans are generated by the traffic police via electronic handheld devices. 

This makes it easier for the public as well to clear their challans online without the hassle of going to an RTO or police station.

It was introduced in India by India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to make it easier for traffic police officials to catch violators more easily and decrease accidents and mismanagement on the road.

It is best to regularly check the Visakhapatnam Traffic Police website to see if an e-Challan has been issued for an offence unknown to the offender. 

You can also check for e-Challans issued via different methods, such as the Parivahan Government Portal, the Visakhapatnam Traffic Police website, and the Digit app. 

• Step 1: You can download the Parivahan app from the Google Play Store or App Store. Or access the website.
• Step 2: Enter the challan number, vehicle, or DL number, verify the Captcha, and click on the ‘Get Detail’ option.

• Step 3: Then, you will be able to see all the challans, including the pending ones, with the necessary details.

Another alternative way to check the status of e-Challan is through the Visakhapatnam Traffic Police Website. Here are the steps to do so:

• Step 1: Open the AP city police website.
• Step 2: The screen will display ‘Check Challan Details’ on the homepage.
• Step 3: Select the appropriate menu for your type of challan. 
• Step 4: Now enter your vehicle number or Challan and click on ‘Get Details’. 
• Step 5: You will have your challan details displayed on the screen.

• Step 1: Install the Digit mobile application on your smartphone.
• Step 2: Choose the 'Check Pending Challans' feature.
• Step 3: Enter the registration number and click on ‘Check Details’.

Visakhapatnam has three methods of paying traffic e-Challan online: the Parivahan website, the Visakhapatnam Traffic Police portal, and the offline method.

You can pay for your e-Challan in Visakhapatnam by using the official Indian Government portal, Parivahan. Here are the steps to do so:

• Step 1: Visit the Parivahan e-Challan Website or download the app from the AppStore or PlayStore.
• Step 2: Enter your e-Challan, vehicle, or DL number and the Captcha code and click ‘Get Detail’.

• Step 1: Access the official website of the Andhra Pradesh Police Department.
• Step 2: Click the ‘Pay Now’ button next to your traffic e-Challan.
• Step 3: You will then be directed to a payment gateway.
• Step 4: You can choose options like credit/debit card or net banking as your mode of payment.

Once the process has been done you end up receiving a receipt notification which contains the transaction ID as a message or email.

Given below are the steps you will have to follow to pay your traffic challan offline:

• If an individual user prefers to pay offline, this may be done at the nearest traffic police station. 

• Pay the amount due in cash and produce the challan to the concerned police officer. 

• Be careful to have a copy of the challan with you because they always insist on not accepting the money without this document.
