In Gujarat, a citizen can verify, submit, and pay the e-Challan (traffic fines) from home, thereby helping to save their precious time and curb visits to traffic police departments that are not necessarily required.

The e-challan issued by the Traffic Police in India for a traffic violation is a digitally produced challan that replaces the traditional paper challan. The e-challan system was created to ensure traffic offenders' convictions were properly documented and that traffic challans could be conveniently paid. 

Implementing e-challans aims to create a completely transparent system that can be utilised to solve various difficulties. e-challan is integrated software that can be utilised on both the Vahan and Sarathi portals to produce a more user-friendly interface. 

As online violation charge systems are introduced, citizens can now pay the fee either online or offline, depending on which facility accepts it in their city or state.

It is best to regularly check the Gujarat Traffic Police website to see if an e-Challan has been issued for an offence unknown to the offender. You can also check for e-challans issued via different methods, such as the Parivahan Government Portal, the Gujarat Traffic Police website, and the Digit app.

• Step 1: Visit the official Parivahan website or download the Parivahan app from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
• Step 2: Then, click on the ‘Check Online Services’ option above and choose ‘Check Challan Status’.

• Step 3: Then, enter Challan, vehicle or DL number and the Captcha.

• Step 4: Press the ‘Get Detail’ button, and you will see your e-challan status and offences.

The second alternative is to go to the Gujarat Traffic Police website to check the status of the e-Challan. Here are the steps to do so:

• Step 1: Go to the Gujarat Traffic Police Portal.
• Step 2: Input the vehicle registration number.

• Step 3: Enter the captcha code as seen in the image.
• Step 4: Click “Submit”.

The challan details will appear on the screen.

• Step 2: Enter the registration number of your vehicle and tap on ‘Check Details’.

There are two methods by which you can pay your e-challans online in Gujarat:

• Parivahan Website or App

• Gujarat Traffic Police Portal

• Step 1: Visit the Parivahan e-Challan Website.
• Step 2: Please enter your Challan number/Vehicle number/Driver License number.

• Step 1: Check out the Gujarat Traffic Police gateway.
• Step 2: Enter Your Vehicle Number and the captcha given.

To pay the e-challan issued by Gujarat traffic police offline, you can choose either of these two options:

• Visit any traffic police office in your city with your driver's licence, address identity card, and offence ticket. Pay your fine in cash and get the receipt.

• Go to a traffic police officer with a handheld e-challan payment unit. Just swipe your debit/credit card at the payment terminal to make a cash-free payment immediately.
