Applicants can apply to any RTO by logging in to the Parivahan portal. Moreover, they will not be required to appear for any driving test to apply for the renewal of their driving licence within one year after or one year before the date of expiry. In Odisha, the validity of a non-transport category (private vehicle) licence is 20 years or till the holder attains the age of 40. After this, the DL is renewable for 10 years and 5 years thereafter. 

For a commercial driving licence, the validity period is 3 years from the date of issue. Moreover, for transport vehicles carrying hazardous goods, the validity period is 1 year from its date of issue or renewal.

The grace period for driving licence renewal in Odisha is 30 days after the date of expiry. Applicants do not have to pay any additional charges for DL renewal within this time period.

For driving licence renewals after the 30-day grace period, you need to pay a ₹300 renewal fee. Moreover, a penalty of ₹1,000 per year will be levied for additional delays in renewal.

Individuals can apply to renew their Driving License in person too. However, the offline process makes the renewal slower.
