A private driving licence is valid for 20 years from the date of issue or until the holder attains 40 years of age, whichever comes earlier. After 40, the driving licence will be issued for ten years and then for five years.

The validity of a non-transport vehicle licence depends on the applicant's age at the time of issue or renewal. For applicants under 30, the validity is until they reach the age of 40. 

For applicants between 30 and 50, the validity is for 10 years. If the applicant is between 50 and 55, the validity lasts until they turn 60. For applicants 55 years or older, the validity is for five years.

Your Driving Licence renewal in Jharkhand can be applied for within 30 days of its expiration. If not renewed within this period, the charges for the renewal process will increase due to a delayed penalty.

A renewal application can be submitted one month before the licence expires. If the application is submitted more than five years after expiration, the applicant must complete all the procedures to obtain a new licence.

If the renewal application is submitted before or within 30 days after the licence's expiration date, it will be effective from that date.
