Pan Card Update: New Rules for Pan-Aadhaar Linking
To prevent financial fraud, the central government requires linking PAN with Aadhaar by December 31, 2024. Failure to do so will deactivate your PAN card, affecting tax payments and transactions. A fine of Rs 1,000 is imposed for late linking. Over 2 crore taxpayers have been fined, totaling Rs 2,125 crore. Out of 74 crore PAN holders, 60.5 crore have linked their Aadhaar.
