The E-Mudhra PAN facility is the exclusive online PAN processing facility, along with UTIITSL and Protean E-Gov Technologies Limited, appointed by the government.
There are three primary PAN card services available under the E-Mudhra PAN facility:
1. Apply for New PAN Card
Following are the steps to obtain a new E-Mudhra PAN Card:
Step 1: Visit the official eMudhra portal and click on 'Apply Now'.
Step 2: After this, enter the information such as name, date of birth, contact number, email address, etc.
Step 3: Then, on the next page, upload your document proofs, source of income, residential
Step 4: Next, make payment for your E-Mudhra PAN application online
Step 5: After this, take a printout of the acknowledgement receipt and put your signature on it manually.
Step 6: Finally, deliver the package to the office through a courier.
2. Rectifications and Modifications in PAN Card
Another exceptional feature of the e-Mudhra PAN card service is that it rectifies and modifies any mistakes on the PAN card. Following are the simple steps to modify and rectify errors in your PAN card using the E-Mudhra portal:
Step 1: First, navigate to the official website of E-Mudhra PAN.
Step 2: In the homepage menu, click on the ‘Changes/Correction’ option that helps people make modifications to their PAN card
Step 3: Enter the necessary details and click the ‘Apply Now’ option.
Step 4: Clicking on the ‘Apply Now’ option will redirect you to the next webpage, where you must enter your PAN number and determine the areas requiring modification, such as name, address, contact number, etc.
Step 5: After this, fill in your Aadhaar number carefully
Step 6: Next, enter the following information, including name, address, contact details, etc.
Step 7: After this, you have to upload your ID proof documents, income proof, address proof, and so on. In addition, you also have to make a declaration.
3. Damaged or Misplaced PAN Card
In case your PAN card is lost, damaged, or stolen, you can immediately request the re-issuance of a new PAN card by following these steps:
Step 1: Navigate the official website of eMudhra
Step 2: Select the ‘Reissue’ option
Step 3: Enter your PAN number and choose whether your PAN card is lost or damaged.
Step 4: If you have lost the card, provide documents such as a copy of the PAN Card, a copy of the FIR for the PAN card misplacement, an allotment letter issued against the PAN card, and your Aadhaar number.
Step 5: Next, enter your personal details like name, address, phone number, email ID, etc. Also, provide your income proof documents and ITR declaration.
