Penalty Charges for Non-payment of Road Tax in West Bengal

As per the guidelines of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, if you fail to pay RTO tax West Bengal, you are entitled to pay hefty penalty fees at the below-mentioned rates.

Payment Process of Road Tax in West Bengal

You can facilitate West Bengal road tax payment by visiting the Motor Vehicles website of the state. All you need to do is enter your vehicle’s registration number and click on “Pay taxes” tab. Then, enter your mobile number and wait for the OTP. In the corresponding space enter the OTP and select on “Show details”. Review all the tax details and enter the month/quarter/year information. After selecting the tax mode, pay the required amount by clicking on “Payment” option. Lastly, select the preferred mode of payment to proceed with paying your tax.

Otherwise, you can also pay the amount at the nearest RTO where the vehicle registration took place.

On-road price is the final price of a vehicle, and it includes several other components like registration fees, insurance, road tax, etc., additional to ex-showroom price. How often do I have to pay road tax in West Bengal?

The payment frequency of the road tax in West Bengal depends on the vehicle type. For instance, if you own a personal car, you can choose to pay the tax one-time for 5 to 15 years or pay a lifetime tax. 

How to transfer vehicle registration from other states to Kolkata?

First, you have to get a NOC certificate to transfer the registration. Then you have to submit the original copy of RTO documents in the new state’s RTO for re-registration. The documents required for the re-registration include, RC, Form 20, 27, 33, attested copy of address proof, Form 60 or Form 61, NOC from the bank, and so on. Post verification, you can complete the registration process at the new state.
