No, an Indian Passport holder does not need to carry a visa when travelling to Maldives. It will be issued once you reach the country.
The Maldives Government does not levy any charge for issuing visa on arrival for Indian citizens. However, to extend your visa, you need to make a payment of Rs 3,350.
Along with a passport that is valid for the next six months, an Indian travelling to the Maldives should also mandatorily carry a return ticket, reservation confirmation for staying at a hotel or a tourist resort, along with sufficient funds, i.e., US$100 and $50 for each day.
A maximum duration for which a visa on arrival is issued to Indians travelling to the Maldives is 30 days, with scope for extension of up to 60 days.
Visa approval of Indian citizens from concerned authorities does not invite any risk of rejection once he/she reaches the Maldives. One must, however, carry along all necessary documents to enjoy a worry-free stay.
