Aadhaar is undoubtedly an essential document for availing of multiple government benefits and services. But, to avail of online facilities, you must register your contact number with your Aadhaar. If your previous mobile number is not in use or you want to modify it, you can visit your Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.

You can add or update your phone number with an Aadhaar card. A few of the steps in this regard include the following –
Step 1: Visit your closest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.
Step 2: Fill out the Aadhaar Enrolment Form.
Step 3: Provide your contact number in the enrolment form.
Step 4: After filing the form, submit it to the executive.
Step 5: Then verify details through biometrics.
Step 6: You have to pay a fee of ₹ 30 for the service.
You should also note that if you have mentioned your mobile number during enrolment, you do not need to opt for re-registration.
To change the mobile number on your Aadhaar card, you must follow a few simple steps –
Step 1: Visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.
Step 2: Fill out the Correction/ Aadhaar Update form.
Step 3: After filing the form, submit it to an executive.
Step 4: You must pay ₹ 30 fees to avail of their service.
Step 5: You will receive an acknowledgement slip with the URN after the payment.
Step 6: After that, your contact number will be updated in your Aadhaar card database within 90 days.
To change the contact number in Aadhaar Card with OTP, the steps to be followed are as follows –
Step 1: Visit the official website of Aadhaar.
Step 2: After that, login to your account with your contact number and OTP. Then, enter OTP and click Submit.
Step 3: Follow the redirection to land on the Aadhaar services webpage to Update your Aadhaar or for a new enrolment. Then, click on update Aadhaar.
Step 4: You will see multiple fields such as Name, Aadhaar Number, Resident Type, and others.
Step 5: As you are concerned, link your phone number, provide the necessary details, and click on the 'what do you want to update section’, then Mobile Number.
Step 6: After that, the website will ask for your phone number. Then provide all details and click ‘Send OTP’. Then, enter your OTP to proceed.
You’ll get an appointment ID to book an appointment.
To check if your Aadhaar card is linked to your phone number, here are the steps to abide by –
Step 1: Visit the official portal of UIDAI.
Step 2: From the homepage, click on My Aadhaar.
Step 3: Navigate to the drop-down menu, and then on Aadhaar Services, click Verify Registered mobile or Email ID.
Step 4: On the webpage, click on enter your Aadhaar number or email ID or mobile number for verification. Finally, enter the captcha code and click on Send OTP.
Then, if your mobile number matches the UIDAI database, you will see a flash message.
