Tyre Protect Add-on Cover in Two-wheeler Insurance
The add-on cover of Tyre Protect in two-wheeler insurance covers the cost of replacing damaged tyre(s) in the insured vehicle. Under this add-on cover, labour charges towards removing and refitting of tyre as well as cost incurred towards wheel balancing are also covered. Benefits under Tyre Protect can be utilized only for a maximum of two tyres of the insured vehicle during each year of the policy period.

What’s covered under Tyre Protect Add-on Cover in Two-wheeler Insurance
Coverages offered under Tyre Protect Add-on cover are listed below:
The add-on cover will reimburse the cost of replacing the damaged tyre(s) with a new equivalent or near equivalent tyre(s) of make model and specification.
Labour charges incurred for removal and fitting of new tyre(s)
Cost incurred for wheel balancing.
What is not covered?
The Tyre Protect add-on cover won’t offer coverage for the following in addition to the exclusions listed under the base insurance policy :
Cost incurred for puncture/tyre repair.
Damage caused due to unauthorized repair or because of poor workmanship at the time of manufacturing/assembly or while undertaking repair.
Damage to the insured vehicle because of improper storage or transportation.
Damages which do not affect the performance of the insured vehicle.
Theft of tyre(s)
Loss or damage of wheel accessories, rims, suspension or any other part/accessories as a result of damage to the tyre(s).
Cost incurred for routine maintenance and adjustments of wheels/tyres/tubes.
Claim filed towards wheel balancing or where the insured vehicle was not repaired at Digit Authorized Repair Shop will not be entertained.
Loss for which the opportunity to inspect the damage/loss before commencement of repair is not provided is not covered.
Loss covered under manufacturer’s warranty/recall campaign/any other such packages.
- Damage resulting from neglect of periodic maintenance.

No, the insurer will not be liable to pay for the claim in the absence of an invoice copy with details like tyre make, model, serial number, etc.

It is 100 percent of the cost of new tyre(s) if the unused tread depth of the tyre(s) is >=7 mm at the time of loss.
Will loss/damage be covered under this add-on cover if it arises because of accidental loss or damage?
Yes, the insurer will reimburse for loss/damage if it is caused due to accidental loss or own damage.
