New Delhi, India’s capital city, is booming at a fast rate from a commercial perspective. It holds the 12th position in the Export Preparedness Index. India and Nepal are close neighbours with an evident history of culture and commercial cooperation. Owing to the Indian-Nepal treaty of 1950, a number of infrastructural and collaborative projects are ongoing between the countries.Â
Likewise, Nepal has a representative in New Delhi which is known as the Embassy of Nepal. It looks after matters of foreign trade exchanges, develops resource management and offers services to Nepalese citizens in India. The Embassy is also proficient in handling travel and accommodation grievances of Nepalese citizens in India.
Some consolidated functions of Nepal’s embassy in India are discussed below.:
Administers travel-based issues of Nepalese citizens who are travelling to India

Recent passport-size pictures
Evidence of fee paid for the visa
Evidence of sufficient bank balance
Travel itinerary, if any
Certificates and documents considering your civil statuses like birth and marriage certificates

The jurisdiction of Nepal in India consists of two governing authorities. Along with its Embassy in New Delhi, for intricately handling the consular services, Nepal has a consulate in Kolkata also known as Consulate General of Nepal.

Along with the Embassy’s political and diplomatic role, the consular services offered by it are as follows:
Live enrolment for e-passport which started from June 08, 2022.
Renewal of a minor's or a major's passport.
Replacing a damaged passport.
Guarantees power of attorney by offering help in issuing affidavits for property and financial affairs.
Issuing four types of visas which include travel, official, diplomatic and gratis.
Offering assistance in acquiring an NRN (Non-Resident Nepali) identity card.
Issuing travel-related documents.
With respect to the last consular service, availing the benefits of travel insurance is suggested. Travel insurance will guarantee protection against any type of unavoidable incidents like baggage loss, health issues, passport loss etc. that might occur while travelling.
