According to the data, Noida in 2018 witnessed 659 road accidents, 1,388 injuries and 111 deaths, against 763 accidents, 1,426 injuries and 146 deaths on the expressway, in 2017.  The major accident spot was linked to the Delhi-Agra highway with 357 reported accidents. Another major spot is the Yamuna Expressway highway with 280 accidents reported. These high numbers throw caution in the air to the drivers cruising down these highways at high speed.

Noida ranks among the worst globally for air quality, with AQI levels exceeding 499—well above the “severe” threshold of 400. In April 2019, Noida police authorities seized 23 buses that were dropping and picking up passengers from the middle of the road, under the Mahamaya Flyover along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. Auto-rickshaws plying along the NH-24 were also seized for similar violations.  The lanes are overcrowded with autos and their repeated traffic violation for on-road drop and pick up causes severe traffic congestion with a high risk of accidents.
