Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is the governing body that is in charge of the administration of Vadodara city and is responsible for the development and maintenance of civic infrastructure. Property owners of Vadodara must follow the formula mentioned below to calculate the amount for VMC house tax.
VMC Property Tax = R x M x A
Here,
R = refers to the applicable annual rate. For residential properties and non-residential properties, annual rates are ₹16 per sq. metre per annum and ₹30 per sq. metre per annum, respectively.
M = refers to the product of different variables required for calculating property tax. Here,
A = denotes the total taxable area of Vadodara property.
As per the Vadodara Tax measurement rules, property area equals the total area of that property, barring internal and external walls.

Property owners willing to pay Vadodara Municipal Corporation house tax can do so via online and offline mediums. Read along!
Step 1 – Visit the official website of Vadodara Municipal Corporation.
Step 2 – Click on ‘Pay online Property Tax’.
Step 3 – Enter 16 digit allotted census no. in the relevant box and click on ‘Search’.
Step 4 – On the following webpage, provide essential details such as the property owner’s name, address. Here, taxpayers can fetch information on property tax dues and clear it via the electronic payment method available on the website.
Step 5 – Census payment option will appear on the screen once taxpayers click on the pay button.
Step 6 – At this stage, the census number, payable amount and payable remarks will appear on screen in INR.
Step 7 – Click on ‘Confirm’. The payment portal will open. Choose a suitable payment mode and complete transactions.
Step 8 – After a successful payment, individuals will be redirected to the official website of Vadodara Municipal Corporation. Verify the transaction by navigating to the payment details section under the ‘owner's details’ tab.
