One of the most popular beaches in this state is Rishikonda. It is located in Vizag, approximately 15.5km from the Vizag railway station. This is also one of the prime attractions of the city. The golden sand beach with palm trees makes it the most idyllic location to relax and enjoy the waves.
Yarada Beach falls under the category of famous beaches in Andhra Pradesh. This calm and serene beach offers a picturesque view of the golden sand and the stretch of hills. Bordered by hills on three sides and the Bay of Bengal on the other, this can be your next vacation stop. In contrast to Rishikonda, this is less crowded and yet to be commercialised.
Situated on the east coast of the Bay of Bengal in Visakhapatnam, Ramakrishna beach is one of the most popularly known beaches in Andhra Pradesh. Its distance from the main town to this beach is relatively less. Although not suitable for swimming, this beach is the most commercialised. You can spend an entire day on this beach without getting bored.
This beach is in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh and is also popular by the name Bapatla Beach. People looking for places to break down their busy monotonous schedule can visit this beach. The wide shore, crystal blue water, and peaceful environment drive tourists to this place.
Another lesser explored beach of Andhra Pradesh is Mypadu Beach. This is located on the west coast of the Bay of Bengal and Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. However, with the initiative of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, this beach is now maintained as tourists’ attraction.
Ramapuram beach is located in Chirala, Andhra Pradesh. You can plan to visit here during the winters when it is more pleasant to lay on the beach. This can be an ideal location for those who admire sunrises and sunsets. If you like to relax in solitude and avoid crowds, you can book a resort with private access to the beach.
Bheemunipatnam or Bheemili beach is located roughly around 29 km away from Visakhapatnam city. This particular beach is among those not-so-famous beaches in Andhra Pradesh because not many people are aware of this marvel. The thick black sand is a major attraction here.
Kothapatnam is a small coastal village situated in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The mesmerising blue water and long stretches of the seashore will make you come back to this place often more. If you live near Ongole, this can be a great destination for a family picnic or weekend getaway.
Appikonda is known as one of the best beaches in Andhra Pradesh. They achieved this position by maintaining cleanliness throughout the beach and nearby areas. Since this particular beach is far from Visakhapatnam city, it does not generally get overcrowded, unlike other beaches of Andhra Pradesh.
Lawson’s Bay beach is just a continuation of Ramakrishna Beach. Walk around the beach, listen to the waves crashing on the shore and feel the breeze. It will definitely help you rejuvenate.
Manginapudi is one of the top beaches in Andhra Pradesh. This is also locally known as the Bandar beach or Machilipatnam beach. Similar to Bheemili beach, here also you will find black soil. Manginapudi lights up during the occasion of Magha Purnima when pilgrims gather to take a holy bath in the sea.
The list of the lesser-known beaches in Andhra Pradesh continues with Pakala beach. This village is located in the Prakasam district. Unlike other beaches, Pakala is not near any popular city, hence, the shore is not overcrowded but is clean and well-maintained. If you are searching for a beach for a laidback staycation, this can be an ideal location.
Perupalem is located in the West Godavari district of the state. The efficient work of APTDC developed this beach for tourism purposes. If you visit here, you will be fascinated with the clear blue water.
This beach serves as a great holiday destination for your family and kids. Moreover, Perupalem is famously known for hosting religious rituals like vana-bhojanam and holy bathing.
Vodarevu is located around 8km away from Chirala. It is among the most visited beaches in this district. Hence the flow of tourists is fairly regular, mainly during the weekends. If you plan to visit here, remember to check out Suryalanka beach as well which is just 28 km from Vodarevu.
Clear water, white or silver sand and glittery water make Uppada beach more tempting. This is proclaimed as one of the safest beaches as its wide shoreline gradually inclines to the water. Those who are planning to visit here must not miss the sunrises and sunsets.Â
Krishnapatnam is among the most beautiful beaches in Nellore. This region is primarily known as a port town. The long stretch of the seashore, shadowed by palm trees on one side, seems like a painted landscape. Experiencing this natural and peaceful beach can offer unforgettable relief from mundane life.
