11. Shivamogga Airport
Shivamogga Airport is a new project that is still under construction. Its approximate distance from the city centre is 6 km. This future domestic airport will have high connectivity among the existing number of airports in Karnataka as it will have a robust link with Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai.
There will be a taxiway, apron, isolation bay, runway, RESA, GSE area and a domestic terminal building. The estimated project cost is ₹384 crores.
12. Jagatjyoti Shri Basaveshwar Airport
Jagatjyoti Shri Basaveshwar Airport will be the name of Vijayapura Airport which will be functional for the people of Vijayapura of Karnataka. The distance from the city centre is 15 km and will be spread over an area of 727 acres.
This is a greenfield airport which is under construction. For the extension of the runway and incorporating other such facilities, the investment amount has been increased to ₹347 crores from ₹220 crores.
13. Hassan Airport
Hassan Airport is another upcoming greenfield airport in Karnataka which is under construction. Its terminal will have the capacity to manage a maximum of 200 passengers. The Airports Authority of India is its owner and operator.
It will cover an area of 536 acres, and the project's estimated amount is ₹193 crores. The expected date for opening is by the end of 2023.
14. Karwar Airport
Karwar Airport is a new construction project under the Karnataka Government which will have a small terminal building and a runway. The airport site will spread over 97.1 acres of land in the Karwar district.
The Infrastructure Development Department is planning to start commercial flights. Moreover, its construction is expected to be completed by 2024.
15. Raichur Airport
The Karnataka Government has proposed to start construction of another new Raichur Airport in 2021. The total investment will be approximately ₹185.57 crores for an area of 400 acres. This project is yet to commence within a short period.
