A voter identity card is one of the most crucial identity proofs for an Indian citizen. You can send an online application for voter ID in Madhya Pradesh or visit an Election Commission office. Steps to Apply for a Voter ID in Madhya Pradesh Online
Nowadays, majority of the government services are being digitised, you can now apply for a voter identity card in Madhya Pradesh online. These are the steps to apply for a voter ID card via online mode:
Step 1: Firstly, you have to visit the official site of the Chief Electoral Commission of Madhya Pradesh.
Step 2: Then, on the homepage, click on the option labelled “Online services for voters”.
Step 3: As a new voter, you need to click on the option to apply for a new registration using Form 6. It will redirect you to the Voter’s Service Portal where you have to register and click on Form 6.
Step 4: You will have to select your state i.e. Madhya Pradesh followed by assembly or parliamentary constituency from the drop-down list.
Step 5: You are required to fill up your details in the form like your name, age, gender, place of birth, parent’s or spouse’s details, etc.
Step 6: Now, you will have to enter your family member's details that were entered previously in the electoral roll.
Step 7: After the form fill-up, click on save and upload.
Step 8: After submitting the application form and the required details, your application will be verified and a booth-level officer will physically visit your residence to verify the authenticity of your provided information.
Step 9: If everything is in order, the concerned officer will give you approval. The Election Commission of India (ECI) will discharge your voter ID card which will be delivered to your given address by post.
Steps to Apply for a Voter ID Card in Madhya Pradesh Offline
The following are the steps to apply for a voter ID card through an offline mode:
Step 1: Firstly, you will have to get Form 6 to register your name in the electoral roll. You can get this application form by visiting a voter registration camp or an electoral registration office.
Step 2: Fill out this form will all the necessary details. Attach the KYC documents along with recent passport-size photographs. Keep your family member's documents handy, as you may require them if you have mentioned the names of family members in your application form.
Step 3: Visit an electoral registration office located nearby and submit the Voter ID application form along with all KYC documents. Once your application forms get accepted, they will be sent for further processing and verification.
Step 4: During the verification process a booth-level officer (BLOs) will visit your place of residence to check if you have provided authentic details or not.
Step 5: Once these verifications are completed, your voter ID card will be printed and delivered to your address by post.
Note: Often camps are hosted for enrolling names in the electoral rolls. You may visit such camps and take assistance from a concerned person to get a voter ID card without much hassle.
