A tragic road accident happened on a Sunday morning in July 2024. Three youths from Amritsar lost their lives while returning from Himachal Pradesh after visiting the Chintpurni temple. The incident occurred in the Amritsar-Punjab border area governed by Khalchian police station, 20 km from Mucchal village towards the Jalandhar highway.
Bikramdeep Singh, SHO of Khalchian police station, stated that the driver lost control of the car and was going at a high speed. The exact cause of the accident is suspected to be the driver's dozing off, but it is still under investigation. The impact caused severe damage to the vehicle, and the passersby immediately pulled the victims from the wreckage.
