Gonda is an infamous district in Uttar Pradesh and is well-connected with the surrounding major parts of the state. All the traffic-related issues in this region are maintained by the local RTO, which has code number UP-43.  Besides, the RTO is responsible for all driver and vehicle-related services.

Gonda RTO offers different types of driving licence for different types of vehicles. You can get licences for the vehicles such as:

• Commercial and non-transport light motor vehicles

• Two-wheelers up to 50cc engine

• Heavy goods vehicles

• Heavy passenger vehicles

• Gearless mopeds and scooters

• LMV over 50cc 

• Heavy trailer

There are two types of vehicle registration certificate available in Gonda RTO:

• Permanent 

• Temporary 

The registration of the vehicle is important and mandatory as this number will be shown on the number plate of the vehicle. You will get this registration number after successful verification.

The vehicle registration charges in Gonda are as follows:

• Invalid Carriages: Registration and renewal charge are ₹50

• LMVs: Registration charge is ₹600, and renewal ₹5000

• Medium Goods-Carrying Vehicles: The registration charge is ₹1000, and the renewal charge is also the same

• Medium Passenger Vehicles: Both registration and renewal charges are ₹1000

• Heavy Passenger Vehicles: Both registration and renewal charges are ₹1500

• Motorcycle: Registration charge is ₹300 and renewal is ₹1000 

• Three-wheelers or Motorcycles (Imported): ₹2500 is registration charge, and ₹10000 is for renewal

• Three-wheelers: ₹600 is to register, and ₹2500 is to renew

• Above ₹2 lakh: 8% of the value of the vehicle

Four-wheelers

• With a price range from ₹6 lakh to ₹10 lakh: 6% of the value of the vehicle

• Of below 1 ton: ₹665

• Of 1 ton to 2 tons: ₹ 946

The localities of Gonda are quite popular and congested, which is why traffic-related issues are very common here. The reporting of accidents is also frequent in Gonda. For example, recently an unfortunate death of a BDO has been reported by the hitting of a reckless vehicle. 

Another death of two bikers was also reported a few weeks back in Gonda. Due to the increasing number of deaths the local RTO is taking beneficial measures and trying to control all these mishaps.

In addition, to avoid congestion, the local government along with the state authority is making new roads and lanes in Gonda. One such example is the Gonda Utraula Road construction from Soni Gumti up to Dewariya Maddo Budha Dewar Link Road. The stretching of SH-30 in the Bahraich-Gonda road networks is also another example of development action taken by the state government a few times back.

The region took part in the 1-month long road safety campaign arranged by the state government from 5th January to 4th February this year. The main motive of this campaign was to increase road safety awareness among common people.
