RTO Jaipur collects road tax from vehicles as per the structure of Rajasthan road tax. Road tax charges levied by RTO Jaipur are as follows:

• For two-wheelers with engine capacity up to 125 cc: 4% on the cost of the vehicle 

• For two-wheelers with engine capacity between 125 cc to 500 cc: 6% on the cost of the vehicle 

• For two-wheelers with engine capacity between 200 cc to 500 cc: 8% on the cost of the vehicle

• For two-wheelers with an engine capacity of more than 500 cc: 10% on the cost of the vehicle

• For four-wheelers costing ₹3 Lakhs or less: 4% on the cost of the vehicle

Not abiding by traffic rules will make vehicle drivers subject to penalties. Charges for breaking the different traffic rules are as follows:

• Charges for driving without wearing a seatbelt: ₹1000

• Charges for driving without a valid registration certificate: ₹2000

• Charges for driving without a license: ₹5000

• Charges for using a cell phone while driving: ₹1000

• Charges for driving a two-wheeler without a helmet: ₹1000

Yes, it is mandatory to have vehicle insurance while driving in Jaipur. Driving any vehicle without proper insurance will make the vehicle owner subject to penalties. The penalty for driving without insurance is ₹2000, whereas repeating the offence will increase the penalty to ₹4000.

According to reports, a family of 3 was killed in a road accident in Jaipur near Doi Ki Dhani. The family was said to be standing near the road waiting for a vehicle that was supposed to pick them up when they were hit by a speeding car. 

The driver fled from the spot abandoning the vehicle. As per the police report, a liquor bottle was also discovered in the car, hinting towards the possibility of drunk driving. 

A road safety campaign will be commenced in Jaipur from the 15th of July, 2023. This intensive 9-day campaign is an initiative by the transport department of Jaipur in collaboration with the state police department. It is being done to spread awareness about the road-safety regulations.
