New Delhi, the national capital of India, is exponentially booming at a faster rate with respect to business and employment opportunities at a global level. The major industries in New Delhi like technology, tourism and retail trade act as catalysts in attracting foreigners for different purposes like business, trade, employment etc.
Therefore, with the growing influx of foreign nationals, it has become important to manage their individual affairs during their stay.
Likewise, for regulating the grievances of the citizens of Qatar in India, there is a Qatar Embassy in New Delhi. The Embassy is responsible for taking care of the diplomatic issues being faced by their respective citizens travelling to or residing in India.
Primary aim of the Qatar Embassy in New Delhi is to promote collaboration between India and Qatar at a political, social, cultural and economic level. With reference to this aim, the Embassy executes following functions:
Offering support to Qatar citizens in seamless visa application process
Replacement or renewal of passports for Qatar nationals
Authenticating civil documents that will be utilised by the Qatar citizens while being in India
Certifying and issuing birth certificates for Qatar children who are born in India
Issuing death certificates for Qatar citizens who have been residing in India
Helping Qatar nationals who have been arrested in India
Offering short-term legal protection to Qatar citizens against unavoidable situations
It is mandatory to submit following documents to Qatar Embassy in New Delhi for procuring a visa:
A Qatar passport
Visa application form
Proof of accommodation
Proof of financial solvency
Recent passport-size photos
Evidence on round-trip flight booking
Civil certificates like birth or marriage certificate
Receipt of visa fee
Please carry the above documents for submitting them to the Qatar Embassy. However, you must connect with the Embassy to receive information on any additional documents to be handed over.
The diplomatic mission aims to provide routine assistance to Qatar nationals in India.
The Embassy offers services in:
Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Bihar, Goa, Haryana, Odisha, Punjab, Gujarat, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Manipur, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Delhi, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Darda and Nagar Haveli, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep, Telangana and Pondicherry.
Therefore, in addition to the Embassy, Qatar has a Consulate General of the State of Qatar in Mumbai. This Consulate is responsible for representing the public administration of Qatar in India.
Qatar Embassy offers the following consular services to its seekers:
Passport issuance in case of expiry, loss or theft.
Dispensing passport permits for returning to Qatar, in case the beneficiaries have lost the passport
Providing support in issuing passports for new born babies
Issuing official authorisation for Qatar citizens who are residing on a permanent or temporary basis in India
Offering support in transporting mortal remains of Qatar citizens back to Qatar
Attesting civil, personal, judicial, educational, medical or other commercial documents
Authorising visit, business, transit, entry visa etc. with respect to the requirements of Qatar nationals
Validation of “Good Conduct” and “Educational” certificates
While in India as a Qatar national, you will receive the above consular services, provided that you have complete contact information of the Embassy for availing quick assistance.
You must also ensure that your personal belongings and interests are secured under travel insurance. This will safeguard you from any damages that might suddenly hamper your trip. By utilising travel insurance, you will have the opportunity to reimburse any kind of medical expenses that you may have incurred during the trip. Furthermore, you will be able to manage issues like baggage misplacement and thus, enjoy a stress-free journey.
